Project 52, Weeks 48, 49 and 50

Since I am so far behind, this will be a quick post. More pictures, less words.

For week 48 I highlighted one of Carter's top toys (besides little motorcycle). This one is rather appropriate for the time of the year. His "brown truck" as he calls it has been in the rotation lately, and he gets super excited whenever he sees one in person (which is a lot this time of the year!).

Week 49 was an epic fail. He loves Santa in theory and on TV. But not so much in person. This was the closest he got, and he even had his candy cane already. But as soon as we left he was talking about Santa and what he was going to bring. I wasn't going to push it; no need in scaring or scarring a 2 year old.

And for week 50, who doesn't love a toddler in pajamas? Once again, chilling watching a little Mickey. Yes this is our morning routine, and I rather like it. We sit on the bed and snuggle in our PJ's. It's nice.

Hopefully weeks 51 and 52 will be more exciting, but I can't promise anything!!

Project 52, Week 47

So I am cheating and taking pictures from the same week (gasp) and using them for two separate weeks. I'm so close to the end of this project, and I am thankful for that! Trev's parents borrowed a pony during Thanksgiving week so the kids could take turns riding him. And Carter did like riding him. But what he liked more was the tractor. He's a boy through and through, except when he is screaming for a rag because his hands got slightly dirty :).

I have to say, I didn't think I was getting any good pictures of the tractor expedition. The backlighting was so harsh. But then I found this gem, and I have to say, I love it!

Taking a quick break from "driving" the tractor to at least acknowledge me.

Project 52, Week 46

We had lots of fun last week while Trev's family was in town for the holidays. Here are some of my favorites from our cold trip to the nature center!! Things are bit crazy in our life right now, so I'm attempting to play catch up.

If you notice, that is NOT little motorcycle in Carter's hand. It is Mater. Yes, once in a while he can change things up!

There is a really cool old combine at the park, and (most) of the kids had fun playing Simon Says in front of it. Here Simon said to hug Carter :).

And most fun of all, they were running and chasing each other. It was so much fun for Carter to play with his cousins, especially those he doesn't see very often.

Project 52, Week 45

Last weekend we enjoyed probably one of the last nice days of the year. Carter and Grandmari had lots of fun with sidewalk chalk! He would grab a new color and have Grandmari spell that color. He was covered in chalk by the end of it, but it was pretty cute!!

Thanks mom for that break! This pregnant mama sure enjoyed it!!

Project 52- Week 44: Halloween!!

Halloween this year was our best one yet. Carter's first Halloween he screamed the entire 20 minutes he was in his turtle costume. He didn't mind his baseball costume last year but he was in a mood all day. But this year (while we still had a few freak outs) he had a lot of fun!! He was ready to say "trick or treat." At the first house he may have just demanded candy for his "happy face jack-o-lantern" and definitely preferred to grab the candy himself. He was a very cute monkey (like Curious George as Carter says) and we had so much fun taking him out for the evening. Since we didn't start until dark I didn't have any great pictures of just Carter in his monkey costume. So we may have put it back on a couple days later for a few pictures. I thought it would be a struggle, but the struggle came when I took it off!!

Notice what's in his right hand?? Yep, that's little motorcycle. He had to set his bucket down at every house to grab candy because he refused to part with that wonderful little toy.

Project 52, Week 43

Project 52- Week 42

I have to admit, I don't love bath time. But I do love this face in the bath!

Project 52, Week 41- A day at the Pumpkin Patch

A couple weeks ago we took Carter to the pumpkin patch. As you will see, there was lots of fun to be had!

Carter jumped across some big tires...

rode on a seesaw...

 drove an airplane...

sat on a giant bicycle...

jumped on a huge inflatable (he had the most fun here!)...

had to leave the huge inflatable (surprisingly no fits were thrown)...

went down a giant slide...

rode on the train (which terrified me because I knew he could jump ship train at any moment)...

took a picture with mommy (and doesn't he look happy about it)...

and finally...picked out a pumpkin!! It was a big debate and Mr. Independent wanted to carry it. Now it wasn't a hug pumpkin, but the carrying didn't last long.

We had lots of fun on our morning adventure to the pumpkin patch! I can't believe I'll have an infant next year if we go...

Project 52, Week 40

So as anyone who tries to photograph a two year old knows, getting them to look at the camera is next to impossible. But I finally got some of Carter actually looking at me! And I got more than one! Small miracles, I know, but it makes me happy.

Project 52, Week 39

Carter has had a backpack for a while, but has never been interested in actually wearing it. Then true to Carter fashion, one day he just had to wear it! Thought it was pretty cute!!

Since we are still enjoying this nice weather, Trev and I took Carter to the Nature Center to walk around for a while. Here are some of my favorites from the day!
