Harter!!

This is what we hear every time the camera or camcorder is brought out (which is a lot). Carter used to say the "c" sound but has now lost it. So now he says "Harter" instead of "Carter," "hoat" instead of "coat," and "ra-er" instead of "cracker!" I thought their speech was supposed to become clearer as they get older, not worse!! Oh well, I still know what he's saying (most of the time anyway). Well since his obsession these days is watching himself on the camcorder, camera or cell phone, I decided to document the time. Before long I'm sure he'll be on to another infatuation and this one will be long forgotten. While this particular obsession can be frustrating, like when I'm trying to take his picture and he just runs at me yelling "Harter! Harter!" it also has a flip side. If he is melting down, freaking out or doing something he's not supposed to, we can pull out our weapon of choice and he is instantly distracted. It works quite well in Church, until we put the pictures away and he totally melts down!!

I am playing with black and white photos. In case you didn't know, there are about a million different ways a black and white can look, and I can't decide how I like it. Sometimes I love the pop of a contrast while other times the hazy softness fits the picture. I guess it's a good thing I have so many black and white actions! In case you're in the market for some amazing photoshop actions, Pure Photoshop Actions is just for you! They are so good! I'm in love and want them all.

There's not a huge difference between them but just enough to give a different feel.

The second one here pops more with contrast, but I can't decide if I like it or not...

It's amazing how just a little tweak can change the entire feel of the picture. It gives so many options (too many sometimes). You may have noticed the coloring book and pen in Carter's hands. This is his other infatuation lately. He gets a pen (with the cap on) and "writes" on his book.  He is also in his Christmas Pajamas. Don't judge, it was laundry day.

Happy Wednesday!

the long road

Oh, and the H/C thing! I think I have the same issue...because whenever I tell someone my name, they're like "oh, Harley?" Um, no. Do I LOOK like someone that would be named Harley?? LOL!
